Goodbye platform security, Hello possibilities!

Hei fellow readers, I apologise for the lack of updates on this blog the past few months. I’m still trying to cope with college life. Sure, college is fun and all but the sheer workload is immense! With that i’d just like to say that this blog shall be what it started to be – just as a hobby and leisure.

Back to topic, the latest “unhackable” firmwares of Nokia FP1 phones has just been hacked again!

For those of you who do not know, hacking your FP1 device grants you access to all of your phones folders, yes even those that Nokia does not want you snooping around. With this access the possibilities for customising your phone is endless! Of course there are other, er, ‘benefits’ you could gain from hacking your firmware but i shall not touch on that point at the moment.

Over the past month Nokia released v31 for most Nseries devices, with no other initiative than to plug the platform security’s loophole and block users from hacking their phone. Well of course many users did not upgrade, and instead waited for the Einstein’s of the Symbian world to come up with a solution. The wait is now over, and the hackers have beaten Nokia once again!

I’ve gone through the simplest hacking method available and it’s still rather complicated and since there’s a fairly good chance of the average joe screwing up his phone i shall not post it here yet.

Be watch this space, i’ll post the solution as soon as i feel it’s simple enough for everyone to enjoy! If you can’t wait, just google around and i’m sure the solution will pop up.

Till next time! Cheers.
