Ancient China

China, developing country... oh boy when the Chinese develop their country they mean business! but even in busy Beijing, there are still traces of a more sacred China. Wide, tranquil lakes as wide as oceans, mirrors the beautiful landscape and architecture that surrounds it. The ambiance of it all is just magical, dazzling all those who gaze upon it.

Summer Palace, China. The sun was beautiful that morning, and despite the development going around that area, I felt like i went back in time to an ancient China, was such a surreal feeling.

What do you think?

Majestic. Proud. Free.

Finally! The sem exams are now finished and I've got 2 wonderful weeks of holiday, free time to spend with my friends and pamper myself with a little relaxation. Putting my exam results aside at the moment.. (no point worrying about something that has past, right?)

Which reminds of this photo, taken back when i was in Beijing.

On the busy streets of Beijing, stands this little creature, free from the cages of society. Standing majestically with pride, it serves as a little moral boost for passes by stuck in a cage of their daily routines. It really feels good having the time to look back at my past photographs, and soak in a little more of what i experienced during the trip. *inhales*.. ah...... :)

Sell Out! - A Malaysia Film Revolution

It's funny how the universe works sometimes. One day you go to the cinemas, expecting to watch a Hollywood blockbuster but instead due to "time constraints" you end up watching a Malaysian comedy....

Sell Out!, also known as $311.0u7! is a Malaysian comedy like no other! Unlike some of the greasier, gimmicky local films around which try desperately to imitate Hollywood's blockbuster success, Sell Out! goes for it's own, unique approach. It's comedy is something that's in the heart of all Malaysians and is so, very, very true. I guess you could say it's funny because it's true ;D

Well after my friends and I became big fans of this show 2 weeks later (last thurs) the directors and cast of the show came to our college! Awesome! We got as excited as little girls around cute boy bands (exaggerated) and it was a blast to watch the movie screened for the second time :-)

It was interesting though as this was a director's cut and not the commercial one we saw in the cinema - certain scenes were added, some absent but the overall comedic energy of the film was still phenomenal. This energy is really enough to change one's perception about the Malaysian film industry and feel proud to be Anak Malaysia!

We even got our picture taken with the star of the show, Peter Davis! Woohoo! Really had a blast that night. Plus it was a charity event so win~win
Sell Out! - Definately a must watch!!!!!

Life is awesome :)

Cool N97 promo video

Hey guys, it's been a long time since i've updated this space, yea college life has been busy busy.. but i'm enjoying every single moment of it. :)

The N97, some say the hottest and most promising device Nokia has launched since the mighty N95 a few years back is nearing it's launch, and now we're starting to see all these cool promo videos popping up like Daisies. This is perhaps the coolest one I've seen so far and stays true to what Nokia is marketing this device as - an internet focused multimedia behemoth!

Damn the N97 looks cool, it's a pity the processor might be a bit weak the it's disappointing that Nokia didn't slap on the N86's wide angle lens and 8mp sensor, but heck I'm sure this device will sell no problem

Bird's Nest Sunset..

Yup, it's been quite a while since my last post, and tomorrow's judgment day - SPM results are out! Well, not much i can do about it now, but looking back at some of my photos from last December's Beijing trip sure relaxes me a little.

The first day we arrived in Beijing they took us straight to the Bird's Nest stadium, aka the venue for the prestigious 2008 Beijing Olympics! Dressed in Malaysian clothes (read: slacky T-shirt, khakis, airy shoes) it certainly wasn't wise of them to throw us into the harsh Beijing winter weather. It was close to -13*c, thrown in some high speed winds, lack of winter gear and you get one freakin cold winter experience, brrr....

Was roughly sunsent by the time wetravelled from the Beijing International Airport to the Bird's Nest statium, but heck that just made it even better to photograph! :D

Here it is, my shot of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Stadium.

Stay cool guys!

Beijing Trip '08 nostaligia..

Another memorable moment when I was in Beijing. It was roughly 5pm, was winter at that time so neturally the sun set earlier. Throughout the day we were rushing through the tour, but the Forbidden City was our last visit for the day so we had a bit more leisure there. Some members of our tour rushed out and couldn't wait to escape the cold but I took my time and enjoyed the warm rays of the sun shining on me. I closed my eyes to soak it all in. ahh....

When i opened them up i saw a few Chinese gently pushing their bikes out of the Forbidden city (have no idea how they got their bikes in in the first place) but it was beautiful to see with fresh eyes. Held up my camera, panned in a little, click!
and that was the story behind this shot. ;D

Enjoy guys!

Valentines Day

Today, February the 14th or better known as Valentines day is a for most to celebrate love, romance, relationships and most importantly each other. For me though, it's spells a 2 week aniversary since my great grandmother's passing.

Taken last week just outside my great grandmother's house, this photo reminds me of her - at 96, she was a brave, strong woman.. but just like the rack and planks that lay outside, she had a weathered heart and body, unfortunately claimed by cancer.
Here's to the strongest and bravest woman i know.

..In memory of my late great grandmother..
